Classes

Split Classes

A class where students are taught both Tap and Ballet/Jazz. This class provides the student with a basic concept of dance. It is ideal for pre-schoolers and younger students because it provides the foundation needed for continuing their dance education.

Jazz

A class where students are taught the fundamentals of Jazz dancing, which enables them to learn more advanced styles. This class is ideal for pre-teen, intermediate, and advanced students, as well as adults.

Hip Hop

A class where students are taught the various forms of hip hop dance which is derived from jazz with the elements of breaking, popping, locking. This class is ideal for pre-teen, intermediate and advance students. It is helpful to have studied jazz previously, but not necessary.

Tap

A class where students are taught the various forms of Tap dancing. Because of the various sounds created in Tap dancing, most students develop a good ear for music. This class is ideal for pre-teen, intermediate, and advanced students, as well as adults.

Classical Ballet (The Mother of Dance)

A class where students are taught a blend of the three schools of ballet: Vaganova (Russian), Cecchetti (Italian) and Legat (French). Ballet has been termed the “The Mother of Dance” because it is the basis of DANCE and enhances all other forms of DANCE. This class is ideal for the student who wishes to learn the art of ballet, however, due to the intensity of this subject, it is not recommended for all students.

Acrobatic

A class where students are taught control, endurance, pliability and counter-balance. Most movements are executed on the floor i.e. hand and foot contact.

  • We provide our students with dance terminology, in addition to instructing them how to perform the dance steps. We believe both instruction and terminology are equally important.
  • While it is best to take Classical Ballet to enhance Jazz and Tap and Jazz to enhance Hip Hop, we realize that dance lessons are a luxury. If a student is financially able to take more than one lesson, they should consider taking a subject that would enhance another.
