Miss Dolores is formerly from South Philadelphia. She began her dance training
as a pre-schooler with the Crescenta School of Dancing. Apart from a very thorough and precise
education in dance given by the Crescenta's, she furthered her studies by attending workshops,
seminars and classes in New York City, which enabled her to study with many prestigious
teachers and choreographers.
In the course of her training, Miss Dolores became an active member of the Philadelphia Chapter
of the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Artists. During her membership, she held
the offices of Secretary-Treasurer, Vice-President, and President. Currently she is a member
of the Professional Dance Teachers of New York City, the United States Alliance of Professional
Teachers of Dancing in Affiliation with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and International
Teachers of Dance, Inc. (ITDI). She is also a past President of ITDI.
Miss Dolores has been a guest teacher for student and teacher workshops in Philadelphia,
Pittsburgh and New York City. She was the head dance counselor at a summer camp in Pocono
Mountains and periodically teaches at seminars in Cherry Hill. She was on the Adult Evening
School Program for Triton Regional High School and has taught for a community program in Somers
Point.
As former choreographer for Gloucester Catholic and Triton High School, she has staged the
musical numbers for 21 Broadway shows. Other credits as choreographer have been:
“Steppin’ Out” at the Ritz Theatre in Oaklyn, a pilot show on Cable TV, shows presented by
local organizations, the Adult Variety Show of Northeast Catholic High School, Flash
(a Philadelphia dance company), Victoria Productions (a modeling and dance company in New
Jersey), Uptown and Garden State Stringbands, Runnemede’s Miss Fire Prevention Pageant and Miss
Runnemede Pageant.
Because of the ever-changing pattern of dance and to offer the most up-to-date material to her
students, Miss Dolores continues to study by taking weekend workshops during the winter months
and seminars during the summer.
On June 24, 2006 – Miss Dolores was presented proclamations from both Camden County and the
Boro of Runnemede. The Mayor of Runnemede, Ginny Betteridge, presented these proclamations to
her. June 24, 2006 was named “Miss Dee’s Day.
